MRH + Missouri Scholars Academy
Two students from Maplewood Richmond Heights High School were selected to be apart of the Missouri Scholars Academy for the third year in a row.
The Missouri Scholars Academy is a three-week academic program for 330 of Missouri’s gifted students who are ready to begin their junior year in high school. The academy is a residential program held on, and partially funded by, the campus of the University of Missouri.
The Academy selection process is highly competitive. They only admit 330 high school sophomores a year from the 400+ districts in Missouri. They received over 900+ applications.
This year, they selected Samantha Schaffner and Holly Clemons from MRH High School to participate. They will represent MRH very well.
Based on our relatively small size of MRH’s High School, the Missouri Scholars Academy only sets aside (1) possible slot for MRH, but for the 3rd consecutive year, two students from MRH HS have been selected. The past scholars are listed below.
1. 2013: Anna Wermuth & Paul Meuser
2. 2014: Ramone Agard and Ellen Von Zur Muehlen
3. 2015: Holly Clemons and Samantha Schaffner
