Middle School Assistant Principal Dan Reeve to Leave MRH
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District regretfully announces Middle School Assistant Principal Dan Reeve has resigned to relocate closer to his family and take the position of literacy assistant principal at Aki Kurose Middle School, Seattle Public Schools.
Reeve joined the Middle School in 2006 as a reading specialist. He and his wife Alyssa served as house parents for Joe’s Place, a home for homeless teenage boys in the District, from 2007-2014. Reeve was honored as the Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013 and was promoted to assistant principal in July 2013.
“The MRH School District and the community at large have been such a home away from home for me and my family. I am a better person and professional because of the opportunities and support I have had throughout my nine year tenure at MRH and during the nearly eight years my family spent at Joe’s Place,” said Reeve. “I know for my family and I, that MRH will always occupy a very special and rich place in our hearts and memories as we leave with mixed emotions."
“We are all sad to see Dan leave our MRH family. He has been an astounding role model for our students, staff, and residents of Joe’s Place,” said MRH Superintendent Karen I. Hall. “His tireless dedication to our District and greater community has been an inspiration for everyone. We will greatly miss Dan and wish him the very best in all his future endeavors.”
The District will now begin the process of seeking a replacement for the assistant principal position with the goal of having it filled at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
