MS Welcomes John McCabe as its New Administrative Intern
Dear MS Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
It is with great excitement that I introduce Mr. John McCabe as our 2015-2016 administrative intern for Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School.
Mr. McCabe received his Bachelors of Arts degree and educational certification from Fontbonne University and his Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Maryville University. Mr. McCabe will join us from Brentwood Middle School where he served as an English Language Arts Teacher for the past eight years. He has also served as the Brentwood Middle School Summer School Principal.
During his time at Brentwood, he has had many opportunities in leadership roles that have prepared him for his new role within the Maplewood Richmond Heights family. Mr. McCabe has served as an elected member of his district’s Professional Development Committee for the past five years, two of which he has served as the chairperson for the entire district. In this role, he has implemented a variety of initiatives aimed at raising academic standards, enhancing technology, and developing citizenship through an intentional approach of character building strategies.
After becoming certified through the CharacterPlus Initiative, Mr. McCabe spearheaded Brentwood Middle School’s Character Education Initiative using a tiered approach for implementation. He embraces the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals to achieve high arching goals. He co-authored the school’s State and National School of Character Award winning applications and is dedicated to the social and emotional development of all students.
Mr. McCabe believes that building relationships in and out of the classroom is the ultimate tool for enhancing opportunities and reducing inequality. He has had experience working with the Normandy School District in a Social Justice Advocacy cohort and believes that it is the duty of all educators to provide rich and meaningful educational experiences to all students. He is dedicated to continuing Maplewood Richmond Heights’ commitment to ensuring that all students are provided with the opportunities and experiences to achieve at the highest possible levels.
Mr. McCabe is an eMINTS certified instructor and believes in the power of inquiry based and experiential learning. Mr. McCabe has provided resources and guidance during Brentwood Middle School’s 1:1 Chromebook initiative, as well as, providing teachers with tiered levels of assistance based upon their own technological comfort levels. He values the use of technology as a means to enhancing student engagement in learning, and looks forward to continuing his own learning within the MRH Middle School family.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. McCabe to the MRH family. You may email him at email@example.com
