MRH Hosts Journey of Understanding
Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is hosting a training event that looks deeper into the topic of homelessness of high school aged students in the United States. The event, Journey of Understanding: The Road to Educational Excellence for Students in Transition will take place September 25, 2015.
This day-long bus tour event will serve as a starting point for on-going discussions between school personnel and service providers. The goal is to improve the overall quality of education and services for students experiencing homelessness in our region.
In the weeks and months following the training, attendees will reconvene into workgroups to build upon what was learned, recommend improvements as to how districts respond to students experiencing homelessness in our community, and implement these recommendations.
The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Participation in this event is $30 per person, and this cost includes bus transportation, lunch, and refreshments. Morning registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with the program starting at 8:00 am. The meeting is taking place at Maplewood Richmond Heights School District (7539 Manchester Road, St. Louis, MO 63143). To register, please visit www.lsem.org.
