MRHE Wins Big at Equations Competition
A select group of Maplewood Richmond Heights Elementary students returned from the Gifted Resource Council's Equation Competitions earlier this week.
The students played the “Equation Game” with around 400 other students in 3rd through 5th grade from all over the St. Louis area. The Equations Competition only awards the top 3 teams per grade level and 3 individuals per grade level. Alyosha Juracsik was awarded for being one for the top 4th grade players.
They also award one team per grade level for most original team name and team presentation (costume). The students named themselves, Math Wars (2nd grade), Mission Exponaunts (4th grade), and Magical Mathicorns (5th grade). They combined exponents and astronauts. Mission Exponaunts won for best costume.
The 6th grade students will play Wednesday, March 16th at Washington University.
