MRHMS Field Study Program
This summer MRHMS will be providing an opportunity for students to participate in MRH’s Field Study Program. The Field Study Program will occur during a three-week period from June 6-24. The times will fluctuate because of a variety of overnight expeditions, and more information will follow with specifics regarding each day as summer approaches. Students will need to be able to attend all three weeks Monday - Friday of the program. If this is something that would be of interest, please fill out the attached Enrichment sign up sheet and return to the MRHMS office as soon as possible. There is a maximum of 22 students for this program.
Adventures and Beyond in the Middle School Field study program. This is a very hands-on program that focuses on expeditionary learning. Students will learn how to design projects, conduct field research, and collect data. The problem-based learning approach focuses on the study of the cultures and ecosystems of the surrounding communities. Students need to be willing/able to camp, travel by canoe, swim, carry their own equipment several miles in a pack, and eat food you prepare yourself. Students should be able to participate in all three weeks of the course.
