HS Junior, Lily Kitipitayangkul Wins $250 in SLU's Pitch Competition
Maplewood Richmond Heights High School junior, Lily Kitipitayangkul takes home second place in the “Teen Escalator Pitch Competition” through St. Louis University’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
All high school students were invited to enter this competition with a simple post to Instagram using the guidelines from SLU.
A group of judges selected the top 24 ideas. Those 24 chosen students had the opportunity to join the Teen Escalator Pitch final competition on Saturday, December 3rd, where they presented their best 30-second pitch one-on-one to judges while riding up and down a series of escalators.
Out of those 24 students Kitipitayangkul’s pitch was awarded 2nd place and she took home $250.
“ I am so proud of Lily for taking this leap and joining this competition. It is exceptional that out of such a large group of students she placed second. Not only is it difficult to pitch an entrepreneurial idea to someone, they added an extra hurdle that it had to be done riding up and down an escalator and she did an excellent job” says High School Principal Dr. Kevin Grawer.
