MRH Board of Education Member Ray Crader to Resign
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District regretfully announces Board of Education member Ray Crader has resigned effective April 24, 2017. Crader joined the Board in November 2014.
“Serving with each of you on the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District Board of Education has been both an honor and a privilege,” said Crader in his letter of resignation to the Board. “As you are all aware, I was recently elected to the Maplewood City Council and now need to focus my energies on city governance.”
“I know that you will continue providing excellent guidance and oversight of the school district,” added Crader. “I look forward to strengthening the relationship between the school district and Maplewood city government.”
“The Board of Education and District are sad to see Ray step down, but we fully understand his need to focus his energies on his new position with the Maplewood City Council,” said MRH Board of Education President Katie Kaufmann. “Ray has given countless hours to support our students, our schools, our community and especially our construction project at the Early Childhood Center.”
“We wish Ray the very best and are looking forward to working with him closely as part of the Council,” noted Kaufmann.
Pursuant to MRH Board Policies BBC and BBE-1, the Board of Education will vote to formally accept Crader’s resignation at their next monthly board meeting on Wednesday, May 24. At that time, a vacancy will be announced and residents wishing to be appointed to the vacancy shall make their desire known by sending a letter to the secretary of the Board stating their qualifications and their reason for wishing to be on the Board. A period of two weeks from the date of the announcement will be allowed for receipt of these letters.
