Meghan Boyer Named Assistant Principal at MRH Elementary

The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is pleased to announce the selection of Meghan Boyer as the new assistant principal at MRH Elementary School. Boyer, currently a special education teacher in the school, will begin her new role beginning July 1, 2017.

Since August 2013, Boyer has been a special education teacher with the Special School District (SSD) and based at MRH Elementary. She has also served as a SNAP therapist with SSD and a special education teacher at Ross Elementary School in the Parkway School District where she was honored as their “Teacher of the Year.” Boyer holds both a B.A. and M.A. in teaching/special education from Webster University. She also holds an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from Webster University and is a graduate of the SSD Leadership Academy.

“Meghan will be a wonderful addition to our administrative team,” said MRH Superintendent Karen I. Hall. “Her experience with our students, families and community will allow her to immediately meet the needs of our diverse enrollment and further their academic success.”

The District was fortunate to have had many great candidates apply for the assistant principal position. The final group of candidates participated in a series of reviews by parents, teachers, and administrators, culminating with the approval of the Board of Education.

"I am thrilled for Meghan to continue to provide leadership within our school,” said Elementary Principal Jason Adams. “She has been instrumental in supporting our school climate initiatives and I look forward to the positive impact she will have on our learning community.”

“To be a part of this district in a larger capacity truly means the world to me!  I am a very passionate person who believes in a collaborative approach to meet the needs of our students, families, staff, and district community as a whole,” noted Boyer. “I cannot wait to begin this role and extend my work with such an amazing group of people.”

Boyer takes the place of current Elementary Assistant Principal Jonathan Strong who resigned in March to join St. Louis Public Schools as their new principal at Meramec Elementary.
