New Communications Director for Maplewood Richmond Heights School District
A veteran member of the broadcast news community in St. Louis has become the new Director of Communications for the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. Ed Rich assumes the office formerly occupied by Brian Adkisson, who left MRH this summer to become the Communications and Marketing Manager for the city of Columbia, Missouri. Adkisson joined MRH in 2011.
Rich is a 1987 graduate of the University of Missouri Columbia School of Journalism. He was a student/instructor for the school's NPR affiliate, KBIA Radio and its NBC television affiliate, KOMU before joining KMOX Radio in St. Louis in 1989. In 1995, he took a job down the street at KSDK TV, where he managed the assignment desk for more than two decades.
Rich and his wife Susan Goen recently celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. The two have two adult sons, one on the east coast, the other on the west.
"I've always enjoyed a respectful and professional relationship with regional community leaders in the public and private sectors. My experience with educators, parents, and public relations experts at the various school districts in our area runs deep. It's about trust and openness. I am thrilled to bring my expertise to a district so rich in tradition and progress," said Rich.
Rich assumed the MRH Communications Director position on July 3.
