And Then There Were Seven: New Board Member Selected for MRH
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District Board of Directors on Thursday chose a new member to fill the unexpired term of a former board member who resigned in April.
Brandi Herndon-Miller was selected from a group of five applicants for the job previously held by Ray Crader, who stepped down from the board after mounting a successful bid for the Maplewood City Council.
Herndon-Miller is a family and criminal law attorney and lifelong resident of Richmond Heights. She has children starting in the 5th grade in the district later this month. She is a graduate of Mary Institute/ Country Day School and holds a law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
"As an attorney, I learn to see both sides of every argument," said Herndon-Miller. "It is that viewpoint that I believe will serve myself and MRH the most."
"I am very involved with the district. I love the district," she continued. "I have watched the district grow into what it is today, and am proud of the education my children are receiving there."
The MRH school board comprises seven members who are elected for three-year, staggered terms.
