Extraordinary MRH Athlete Honored by MO. General Assembly
With his proud parents standing beside him, MRH sophomore Malik Stewart was presented with an official proclamation at Thursday night’s monthly meeting of the Board of Education.
The resolution was drafted by District 83 State Rep. Gina Mitten (D), and presented by board member Nelson Mitten. The document lauds Stewart as an exemplary student and humble individual who sets a remarkable example for others.
Stewart took second place at the Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 2 State Cross Country Championship held at Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City on Nov. 4. He set a new school record 5K record with a time of 16:47. For the season, Stewart had eight consecutive top-5 finishes, including a big win at the Hancock Invitational.
