Six MRH Tech Students Earn High Honors
The Special School District this week recognized six Maplewood Richmond Heights High School students for their high levels of achievement in a wide range of technical studies.
The students are Leah Atkins, a graduating senior, and Leah Dickerson-Crump, Matthew Haugsness, Vivian Johnson, Margaret Pole, and Jacob Tatum, all juniors. All are members of the National Technical Honor Society.
Atkins studies automotive technology. She was named "Tops at Tech." Dickerson-Crump and Pole are health sciences students and Johnson is working to become a vet assistant. Haugsness, who studies precision machining, was honored with a PBIS award (Safety, Respect, Ready to Learn). Tatum, who takes welding classes, received the President's Award.
MRH students have the opportunity to enroll in part-day classes at South Technical High School in Sunset Hills. South Tech is operated by the Special School District of St. Louis County.
