MRH High School Club Teaches Young Women to Become Mentors
One of the many clubs available at the high school in the MRH district is "Women Who Look Ahead." WWLA women meet with students in a mentoring capacity, hosting club activities, and having guest speakers.
This weekend, members worked with a girls' leadership group at the Early Childhood Center. They made tic-tac-toe pieces for games to donate to the Salvation Army.
WWLA members engage in activities and group discussions that focus on positive self-esteem in order to be successful, confident, and educated young scholars. It was founded in 2001 by a group of MRH women who were motivated to form this group to be local mentors to young girls as they saw middle school students tranisitioning to high school. These women wanted to help young ladies achieve positive things in their lives with support and motivation and a focus on academics.
