Clarification: Student Learning Options for 2020-21 School Year
Due to a glitch in the audio within this video released on Thursday, July 31, by the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District, there may have been confusion over the K-6 virtual academy instructional option. We can assure parents that Kindergarten through 6th grade virtual academy will be provided under the direction of an MRH teacher.
The video explains the instructional options available to families when the new school year begins on September 1, 2020. The video -- narrated by Assistant Superintendent Roxanna Mechem -- breaks down the choices which parents and guardians are asked to make by August 10. By a vote of the MRH Board of Education, all learning will take place in a virtual form at the kickoff of the semester, but could potentially transition to a phase in which students spend some time at school and some time at home.
This link will take you to the on-line form necessary to make your instructional choices for each MRH student. Responses are due by August 10.
Be advised, the principals of each MRH building will distribute highly detailed information -- specific to their grade levels -- on Monday, August 3. Those messages will clarify what learning will look like under all scenarios and will also include information on how to submit questions about the selection process.
