MRH's Proposition E Partner Announces Role in Major Equity Project
Announcement by Dennis Young, President and CEO, Ittner Architects:
"NSBA (National School Boards Association) in collaboration with CUBE (Council of Urban Boards of Education) has selected Ittner Architects to conduct the introductory interview to one of the most important equity-focused K-12 initiatives in the country. The CUBE Annual Conference 2020 will be held on September 22-24, and will introduce the DIRE Campaign, “Dismantling Institutional Racism in Education”, an initiative that is dedicated to understanding and recognizing the root causes of barriers to equitable educational outcomes for each child and is obliged to work to eliminate disproportionality in all aspects of public education. Through our ‘Issues in Education.net’ podcast, I will be interviewing Charlie Wilson, NSBA President and Frank Henderson, NSBA Secretary-Treasurer to kickoff this important Conference.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this conference will be a virtual event. I will be leading the preconference interview from my office in St. Louis, with the two other Thought Leaders located in Ohio and Kansas. A minimum of two videos will be produced by NSBA of the interview. The first is expected to be 1 & ½ hours in length, covering an important range of core topics and priorities, which will then be discussed at length during the CUBE Conference seminars. The second video will serve as an introduction to the conference, consisting of excerpts that will total 3-minutes in length.
The DIRE Campaign is intended to bring real change to public K-12 education. All of us at Ittner, are proud to have been chosen to kick off CUBE Conference 2020."
