MRH to Begin Second Semester in Tier 2 Hybrid Learning Mode
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District administrative team and Board of Education have created and unanimously approved a plan to shift into a Tier 2, or hybrid, learning model when the second semester of the academic year begins on January 25, 2021. This decision was issued during a special session of the Board on January 7. Tier-2 is a protective system which reduces the number of students in any building at any one time by providing for both on-site and at-home learning during the week.
The process of returning to classrooms will look different from building to building. We urge all MRH families to review the MRH Semester 2 Family Handbook which was distributed shortly before Winter Break. In it, you’ll find the very latest return-to-learning plans for the Early Childhood Center, Elementary School, Middle School and High School.
Some operational aspects are still being refined, most notably bus transportation. Our principals will be sharing those details in the coming days. In the meantime, teachers will return in larger numbers next week to begin preparing their classroom spaces physically and technologically.
The MRH team is committed to working with families to deliver quality in-person learning while providing a virtual option for those who are not ready to return. We have enjoyed seeing those students who have participated in on-campus interventions since last fall and we look forward to seeing more of your children and our colleagues in a few weeks!
