To improve safety and efficiency for our students and families, we are making some changes to how we manage school transportation. These include the use of bus passes, new routing software and transportation eligibility. Please carefully review the procedures by downloading the guide at the link below.

The Transportation Department oversees routes, bus stops, and trips (activities and sports). Our priority is to provide safe transportation for all of our students. We also desire to foster relationships among drivers, school administrators, teachers, students and parents.

Four buses provide daily route service to and from the Early Childhood Center. Once these routes are completed, four buses go on to provide service to and from the Elementary School, then three buses serve the High and Middle schools on combined routes.

Students living less than a mile from their school are considered “walkers” and not eligible to ride the buses unless there are safety concerns. Influencing this decision is the age of the child and the character of the streets and environs that must be navigated. 

In addition, Early Childhood students are required to have an adult or older sibling wait with them in the morning and meet them at the bus stop in the afternoon. Drivers will not let these students off of the bus unless there is someone, identifiable by the driver, to meet them

Play it SAFE around school buses:

• Stay at least ten feet - five giant steps - away from the curb.
• Always wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and the bus driver signals for you to board.
• Face forward after finding a seat on the bus.
• Exit the bus after it stops and look left-right-left for cars before crossing a street.
