The 2025–2026 school year was another outstanding year for Maplewood Richmond Heights Athletics and Activities, highlighted by tremendous individual accomplishments, team success, and continued program growth across multiple sports and activities.

One of the year’s biggest achievements came from Sara Kolar, who captured a State Championship in Girls Golf, showcasing incredible dedication and excellence throughout the season. In Boys Cross Country, the team demonstrated consistency and competitiveness by finishing 7th in the state, an impressive accomplishment against strong statewide competition.

Girls Volleyball closed their season on a six-game winning streak, reflecting the growth, chemistry, and resilience developed throughout the year. Girls Softball continued to move the program forward by winning its first district game for the second consecutive season, while the Girls Tennis program continued to show steady improvement and development.

The Wrestling program had another successful season, sending four boys to the state tournament and continuing to build a strong culture of toughness and competitiveness. Boys Basketball added another historic accomplishment by winning the conference championship for the fourth consecutive year. In addition, Abraham Nayou reached a major career milestone by scoring 2,500 career points, placing him second all-time in scoring in MRH Boys Basketball history since 2000.

Girls Basketball also had a strong season, earning double-digit wins and securing a dominant victory in its first district game of the 2025–2026 season. The Cheer team did an outstanding job throughout the year promoting school spirit, pride, and positive energy at events and within the school community.

Boys Volleyball continued to improve significantly, increasing its win total by four matches and accomplishing an impressive 25–0 “bagel” set during the season. Track and Field once again had a solid overall showing while also successfully hosting the school’s first track meet in years, which was a major accomplishment for the department and community. The Boys Track team also had a student qualify for the state meet in the Triple Jump, where Abraham Nayou finished 7th in the state.

The Baseball team battled competitively throughout the season behind senior standout Aidan Paige, who finished the year batting an outstanding .538. In Golf, Elliott Storm demonstrated grit and toughness while putting together one of the best seasons of his career.

Both the Girls and Boys Soccer programs showed improvement in their overall records and continued building positive momentum for the future. In activities, the Speech and Debate team qualified for State, continuing the school’s tradition of academic and competitive excellence. Additionally, Silas Tanner earned Gold Medal recognition at the MSHSAA State Solo and Ensemble competition, another exceptional achievement representing the strength of MRH’s fine arts programs.

Overall, the 2025–2026 school year reflected the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our student-athletes, coaches, sponsors, families, and supporters. MRH continues to demonstrate excellence both in competition and in representing the pride and values of our school community.
