Before & After School Care

• Re-Enrollment will open for all currently enrolled Discover Club and Y-club families
• Preschool & Kindergarten families will re-enroll in Discover Club using the Interest Link on the website.
• 1st-6th Grade Families will re-enroll in Y-Club using the Y-Club Link on the website.
• Because students move up grades, there are spots that usually become available for open enrollment. Re-enrollment allows us to determine open spots available.

April 15, 2026

• Open enrollment for all NEW families needing before and after care will begin.
• NEW families who sign up on the re-enrollment list will not be able to use that timestamp; they will need to complete the open interest form on/after April 15 for a spot.
• Please note: EVERY effort will be made to ensure families who need before and after care have spots.

All links will be live at 8 a.m.  Once we have an idea of how many families are in need of care, we will work to determine staffing.

**Please note all fees and pricing for Discover Club are 2026-2027 rates.  Rates are subject to change and reviewed and updated yearly be the school board.

Discounts are offered for both Y-Club and Discover Club for families who need care but cannot afford the full amount. Please contact us for more information.

PLEASE NOTE: When registering for Y-CLUB be sure to CHOOSE the SCHOOL for the 2026-2027 school year. 

For example a CURRENT 2nd grader will need to choose MRH Elementary for the 2026-2027 School Year to enroll in Y-Club as a 3rd grader.

The MRH school district recognizes the need to support families with options for childcare beyond the regular school day.  Our school district understands the challenges that families face in balancing their professional responsibilities with their children's educational and recreational needs. Our programs are designed to support families outside the regular school day when students can participate in a safe, nurturing environment. 

Preschool and Kindergarten utilize the Discover Club program which operates from 7 a.m. - the start of the school day - and runs to the end of the school day, 6 p.m.

1st-6th grades utilize the Y-Club program which is operated by the Mid-County YMCA. This program operates at the building level, so 1st & 2nd grade students are serviced at MRH Early Childhood Center and 3rd-6th grade students are serviced at MRH Elementary School.

Goals & Philosophy

The Discover Club program intends to ensure a positive, safe, and stimulating environment for students. The staff will work together to accomplish the following goals:

• Provide individualized care for each student according to his or her abilities and interests.

• Handle matters of discipline in a fair and constructive manner.

• Enhance the self-image of each student by helping him or her feel respected and valued.

• Provide for the safety and welfare of students in every possible way.

1st-6th grades utilize the Y-Club program which is operated by the Mid-County YMCA. This program operates at the building level, so 1st & 2nd grade students are serviced at MRH Early Childhood Center and 3rd-6th grade students are serviced at MRH Elementary School.

Information Regarding Online Registration:

• You still have the ability to register at the Branch if you need assistance.

• If registering more than one child and there is a discounted registration fee you will pay the individual registration fee per child and we will apply the adjustment to your first month’s program fee. For example if an individual registration fee is $50 and a family registration fee is $75 and you are registering 3 children you will pay $150 and we will apply $75 to your first program fee.

• If you are needing AM and PM care you will need to register for both programs. There is not a program option for AM/PM and we will make the adjustment to your program fees once registration is complete. This allows us to monitor and track capacities for State Licensing.

• You will have the option to use previous answers for some of our questions, but some you will not have the ability as they need to be updated annually.

• Per State guidelines the Y needs to have all enrollment forms at our Y Club sites, therefore we will be printing all of your information out and providing it to the sites. You will be required to sign the paperwork on your child’s first day of the program. This will allow us to verify all information is accurate.

• Immunization records will still need to be provided to Y staff.

• If you indicated your child has an IEP/504/Behavior Management Plan, Chronic Health, or a custody agreement, please note there will be additional forms required before your registration will be complete. Feel free to reach out to us to get these forms sent to you.

• Please note, this registration does not guarantee a spot if all additional paperwork is not received prior to the first day of school and or staff is not obtained.

At the Gateway Region YMCA, our goal is to provide an inclusive environment. At our Y Club sites we have trained and caring staff to provide assistance and support to children who have a disability.
