MRH Essayists Honored by Equal Justice Initiative
Two MRH seniors were named winners of a regional essay competition sponsored by the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI).
Jordynn Phipps and Daniel Matz tackled weighty topics with essays titled "Psychological Warfare: America’s Everlasting War" (Jordynn) and "Restoration of Housing Disparity in St. Louis" (Daniel). Each student was congratulated by EJI for their “thoughtful essays engaging a topic related to America’s legacy of racial and economic injustice.”
Jordynn and Daniel were invited to receive their awards at a ceremony on February 26.
Founded in 1989, EJI is a private, nonprofit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons.
