Three MRH Students earned bids to the National Speech and Debate Association’s National Championship Tournament.

Senior Maia Truemper and Junior Vera Pantazis were crowned tournament champions in Debate after elimination round victories against Jefferson City High School. Sophomore Dizzy Funke finished second in Original Oration (Persuasive Speaking). The top three competitors in each event advance to the National Tournament.

The three Blue Devils will travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the 5-day, June tournament which hosts nearly 1,500 high schools from across the nation. It’s the third consecutive year MRH has qualified for the 100-year-old tournament.
