Voters Overwhelmingly Approve MRH Ballot Propositions
MRH District voters on April 8 gave the go-ahead for wide-ranging facilities upgrades and better pay for staff with approval of Propositions B and E.
Superintendent Dr. Bonita Jamison says the overwhelming backing of the ballot measures provides a clear signal of trust and commitment by the entire community.
"I am deeply grateful for your support in the passage of Propositions B and E with an astounding 83% and 81% approval rating, respectively the highest approval ratings in the past twenty years. The results from Tuesday’s election speak volumes about the strength of our community and your belief in the future of our schools. We are a community of care!
Whether you opened your door to a canvasser, asked a thoughtful question, listened to a canvasser’s story or shared your perspective in small, but meaningful conversations with a neighbor or friend, you were demonstrating what it means to be part of a bigger community effort. Your engagement helped bring these propositions to life, and I can’t thank you enough.
Thanks to your staunch support, we can now:
-
Stay competitive with teacher salaries
-
Address much-needed deferred maintenance
-
Invest in a new track and field
-
Update furniture and learning environments
-
Fund important projects across the District
Finally, the passing of Propositions B and E would not be possible without the commitment and support of our Board of Education and the tireless efforts of our Keep MRH Strong PAC led by MRH parent Sandra Richason. This is what community looks like. This is MRH. Thank you for continuing to stand with us.
With gratitude,"
Dr. Bonita E. Jamison
