MRH High School student teacher Aurora Hofius got a surprise classroom visit from the SLU Billiken and university staff members this week. Aurora was nominated for and then selected as a Missouri Teacher Leader of Tomorrow (MTLT) Award recipient. This award recognizes and celebrates outstanding pre-service teachers, mentoring them with veteran Milken Educators and creating a network through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).  

Aurora is the assistant to MRH High School English teacher Derek Rowley.

Missouri Milliken Educators created the MTLT to celebrate individuals who have demonstrated high potential to achieve greatness in education. In the first three years of the program, they have honored 33 new teachers with the award from 14 universities across Missouri.
