MRHMS Students Win Stock Market Game with Outstanding Financial Performances

The SIFMA Foundation announced the winners of the 2024 Stock Market Game, celebrating the top-performing teams across elementary, middle and high school categories. Each team achieved the highest portfolio values in the competition and was recognized alongside their teachers and schools.

In the Middle School category, Maplewood Richmond Heights took both 1st and 2nd place from a field of 203 middle schools across Missouri! Besides medals and the glory, the MRHMS teams won $100 and $75 for a class celebration.

The 1st place comprised 7th graders Niko Walton, Ricky Hodge and Philip Frisella. The 2nd place team included Henry Kaplan Van Dellen, Poppy Sutton and Cece Harter, all 7th graders.

The Stock Market Game emphasizes the value of equipping young people with essential financial skills and knowledge. This dynamic program allows students to engage in the complexities of stock trading by managing a simulated portfolio with a virtual $100,000. Through this hands-on learning experience, participants gain valuable insights into economics, finance, and market dynamics.
