  • Maplewood Richmond Heights Early Childhood Center Principal Search:  Survey & Timeline

    MRH is searching for our next principal of Maplewood Richmond Heights ECC. One of the first steps will be to create a profile of the ideal candidate based on feedback from staff and parents/guardians/caregivers. We have created a brief survey for you to share thoughts about the leadership qualities and characteristics that the next principal should possess.     Interview Process/Staff & Parent/Guardian Interview Teams

    When the principal profile has been completed, we will use it to perform an initial screening of applicants. The district's administrative team will review and assess all applicant information and hold virtual screening interviews for all qualified applicants. The assessment will be based on the job description for the position and the candidate profile that the ECC school staff and families created via in-person meetings and/or via survey. Candidates who make it through this initial virtual screening will be invited to complete a performance event. 

    Performance events will be reviewed and scored to determine candidates to participate in the second step in the selection process, in-person interviews. Candidates will meet with a team of staff members and parents/guardians who represent the diversity of the early childhood center. The teams will interview each of the candidates and provide feedback based on the candidate's profile.  The third step of the process will be an interview with the superintendent's cabinet team and building-level administrators. Selected candidates will then interview with Superintendent Dr. Bonita Jamison.

    Dr. Jamison will meet one-on-one with the remaining candidates. She will use the feedback collected to select the individual who will be presented to the Board of Education for appointment to the position pending the results of a comprehensive background check. Our current goal is to complete this entire process by May 1 to ensure adequate time for a smooth transition process.

    The tentative time frame for interviews is April 23- May 1.
