MySchoolBucks Pricing Changes, March 2024

  • MRH was recently notified by its vendor MySchoolBucks that changes are taking place in their pricing structure. On February 29, 2024, all families with a MySchoolBucks account received the following email:

Thank you for choosing to use MySchoolBucks to securely and conveniently pay for your student’s school meals this school year.

We’re updating the program fee you pay at checkout in MySchoolBucks when funding your student’s meal account to $3.25 for each credit/debit card payment beginning on March 7th. Please note that if your district accepts e-checks, the program fee when paying by electronic check will be $2.75 per meal payment on the same date.

Due to rising payment processing interchange fees and increased operational costs, this adjustment to our per-transaction program fee for school meals is necessary to continue providing you with the best and most secure online payment experience.

If you would like to make changes to your saved payment methods or automatic payment settings, please log into your MySchoolBucks account.  For questions, please call our support team at 855-832-5226.

    Thank you,

    The MySchoolBucks Team

  • Meal Prices

For the 2023-2024 school year, we have made some adjustments to the prices for breakfast and lunch.

In the past, we were able to offer free breakfast to all students through the Provision 2 program. However, due to changes in eligibility criteria, we no longer qualify for Provision 2. This will require students who have reduced or full status to pay accordingly for their breakfast.

Provision 2 allowed us to streamline meal distribution by providing free meals for all students without the need for individual applications. While this change means we can no longer offer free lunch to all students, please be assured that we remain committed to providing nutritious and affordable meal options.

We understand that these changes may raise questions, and we are here to address any concerns you may have. If you have questions regarding meals, please reach out to Dallas Schwegel of Chartwells.

    How to Pay for Meals

MySchoolBucks gives MRH families the convenience and flexibility of one account to securely pay for all of their students' meals and more with a credit card, debit card, or electronic check. With MySchoolBucks, parents are able to register for an account and view account balances or recent purchases in the school cafeteria, add money to their student's account, and set up low balance alerts through this system. Please note there is a small online fee per transaction.

MRH also accepts cash or check. Please make the check out to “MRH School District” and write the name and ID number of your child so we know which account to deposit it in. Any cash will need to be sent in a sealed envelope with “MRH School Nutrition Services” written on the outside with your child’s name and ID number. Any cash received without this written information will be deposited into our Angel Fund. Deposits will be made into the student's account at the end of the day.

Charging of meals is a privilege. We will not deny any student a meal or give them a replacement meal because we believe children should not be shamed in any circumstances.

You will be notified at least once a month if there is no money in your child’s account either through the student’s take-home materials, mail, or email. We strongly encourage families to prepay to prevent these notices.

Policy EF-AP(1) has more details about meal charging.
